Logmetry

What it changes for youFor the CFO

Doing nothing has a price. Here is every line that comes down.

At the guaranteed floor, an illustrative 1,000 GB a day Splunk estate, at a negotiated 40% below list, spends at least $0.90M less on Splunk over three years than doing nothing. Run the same model on your own volume and contract price.

Counted: what comes off the SIEM license.

Hard, counted. GB a day off the license at renewal, and the uplift paid on less data.

  • Year 1

    $1.08M doing nothing

At least $0.22M less at the floor. Savings land at the renewal, not before.

  • Year 2

    $1.46M doing nothing

At least $0.29M less at the floor.

  • Year 3

    $1.98M doing nothing

At least $0.40M less at the floor.

Every line of the telemetry bill, and when it comes down.

Step one is the SIEM. The rest follows only when the step before it is proved on your data, and each line is sized in the review before you spend anything.

  • Now · SIEM ingest

    Log reduction

Only what detection reads is indexed. Duplicates, debug output and unread fields stay out, so the license and its renewal are priced on less data.

  • Now · AI tokens

    Every investigation reads less

Events trimmed in flight to the fields an agent needs. Microsoft’s sample Windows logon event is 710 tokens raw and 152 cleaned, in our measurement.

  • Later · APM hosts

    Per-host pricing on fewer hosts

The APM keeps the crown-jewel apps that earn deep tracing. Ordinary hosts come off per-host pricing.

  • Later · Infrastructure monitoring

    Monitoring you own

Ordinary checks move to an open source time series database in your account, each alert rebuilt and proved at parity first.

  • Later · OpenTelemetry

    No per-agent licenses

One open collector on every host, managed from a console you own, with no per-node or per-agent fee.

  • Later · Footprint

    Modules you stop paying for

Keep the platform features that earn their price, not the whole platform at every renewal.

How cost appearsCost is the whole argument here. An illustrative Splunk estate: 1,000 GB a day, growing 29 percent a year (IDC), at $1,080 per GB a day a year, the low end of list less 40 percent, the top of the 30 to 40 percent discount buyers at that volume commonly get (Vendr, February 2026), with a 5 percent rise at each renewal from year 2. The same model runs for Microsoft Sentinel, Datadog and CrowdStrike. Illustrative, not a quote.

Where we might be wrongIf the break-even reduction is above what the proof measures, or the net saving is negative at your own prices, we will tell you, and the model will show it. Every estimate is a range of plus or minus a quarter until discovery fixes it, and no soft benefit is priced.

The AI bill is a token bill. Make it smaller.

Your SOC agents, your root cause agents, your developers asking why an app is down and your business users querying the data platforms all pay by the token. Clean, enriched, partitioned data is the biggest lever on that bill.

  • AI SOC

    Each alert an agent works

Triage and investigation read the events behind each alert. Trimmed to the fields that matter and enriched once, each one reads a fraction of the tokens.

  • Root cause

    Every incident an agent explains

Root cause agents read logs, metrics and traces across services. Deduplicated, correlated data means fewer tokens per answer and fewer wrong turns.

  • Developers

Every question about an app that is down

Developers asking an assistant why their application is failing get the answer from clean, partitioned data, not from a raw dump it has to parse first.

  • Business users

Every question to the data platforms

Enriched, partitioned data means each query scans less and each model reads less, whoever is asking.

One public example, in our measurement: Microsoft’s sample Windows logon event is 710 tokens as raw XML and 152 once cleaned and enriched. Multiply that by every question your organization asks of its telemetry.

You see it measured in your own numbers before you commit to anything, and the floor is written into the proof.

  1. Step 1Free

    Free architecture review

Your SIEM feed drawn from your diagrams, and a sized estimate. No system access.

  2. Step 2Guaranteed

    Two-week proof of value

Your noisiest source, criteria signed first, measured in your own license usage view.

  3. Step 3

    Source by source

Typically one to two weeks each, with acceptance criteria agreed in writing before each starts.

At least 20% less into your SIEM, every alert kept, proved on your data.

See your architecture drawn, with the costs, before you spend anything.

Our lead architects draw your SIEM feed from your diagrams: where the cost sits, what step one would change, and where it would not pay. If it pays, the next step is a two-week proof on your noisiest source.

Free. No system access. No obligation. You keep the drawing.
