Where we fit
Where it fits, and where it does not. Said before you spend anything.
Step one pays where a volume-billed SIEM meets noisy sources and a renewal. Where it would not pay, we tell you in the free review, in writing.
01Where step one pays
Three or more of these, and it is worth a review.
- A SIEM billed by volume, with ingest climbing.
- Noisy sources: firewall, DNS, Windows, Sysmon.
- A renewal or a true-up inside 18 months.
- A SIEM you will keep, or one you want to leave.
- An AI plan for the SOC that needs clean data.
02Not yet, or not us
Where it does not.
If one of these is you, the honest answer is no, or not yet. If it is not in your top five for the next 18 months, tell us and we will stop bringing it up.
- Not usYour SIEM is your only destination for good, your sources are clean, and nothing is left out. Its own tools may be all you need. Better you hear it now.
- Not usThe license is small and flat: the saving would not pay for a second product.
- Not usNobody will own a second product on day two, and nobody may run it for you.
- Not usA plan to replace the SIEM outright. We sit in front of a SIEM, never in place of it.
- Not yetInside CrowdStrike’s free 10 GB a day of third-party data: there is little to cut (CrowdStrike FAQ, 21 October 2024).
- Not yetThe contract just renewed for years, with no true-up in sight.
- Not yetA new CISO or CIO in their first 90 days, or a team mid-audit or mid attack exercise.
- Not yetNo SIEM yet: the SIEM choice comes first.
- Size firstA SIEM billed on compute or workload: the saving shows as compute, not GB, so we size it before we promise anything.
03What it takes
What it takes from your team.
The operational load, stated up front, so it never shows up later as a surprise.
- Before the proof
- Two one-hour sessions: your diagrams, your volumes, and the detections you want proved.
- During the proof
- About two hours a week from your SIEM admin, and a SOC analyst to validate the replay.
- At the readout
- One hour with the decision owner: the before and after, in your own numbers, and the material to present it. What you do next is your call.
- After go-live
- Your team runs it, or we do by agreement. A second product to own is a real cost, and we say so.
See your architecture drawn, with the costs, before you spend anything.
Our lead architects draw your SIEM feed from your diagrams: where the cost sits, what step one would change, and where it would not pay. If it pays, the next step is a two-week proof on your noisiest source.
Free. No system access. No obligation. You keep the drawing.
